In the beginning of his book, Why Small Groups?, C.J. Mahaney makes a bold statement:
"A church following a biblical model will not just have small groups. It will not merely "offer" small groups. Rather, it will be built with small groups."
During the latter months of 2008 and early 2009, the elders became convinced that developing small groups was crucial to the health and growth of Grace Baptist Church. These community groups would exist to strengthen community, discover spiritual gifts, develop leaders, apply Biblical truth, and influence the neighboring world around us through lives and families applying the truths of Scripture and commending the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and in deed.
Starting March 1, 2009, Englsh-speaking members of Grace will begin meeting once a month on Sunday night in homes all across Southwest Florida, including Fort Myers, N. Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, and Cape Coral. This will be a time where the church is scattered throughout the region to reach into the lives of one another through genuine sharing of lives and reach out through hospitality and the loving embrace of neighbors, friends, and coworkers.
For Spring 2009, the scheduled Sunday evenings for Community Groups are the first Sunday of March, April, and May. The dates are:

When Jesus asked the question, "Who do you say that I am?" He was asking a question that we all have to answer. As Christians, we have one message to believe and one message to tell--the gospel of Jesus Christ. What God has accomplished for sinners through His Son Jesus Christ in His life, death, and resurrection is not only central to who we are but sufficient for all that we do. If you have never heard of this gospel, we encourage you to consider the two ways to live. In this presentation, you will understand who God is, what He has done, and why it is absolutely necessary for you to turn to Jesus and trust in Him.
When you come to one of our meetings expect to be greeted and welcomed by people just like you.
